that light in the bg is ... great

It's not a portrait but only a figure in the dark and I think that the exagerations on some proportions of the woman makes her really fascinating and better filled in the mood of the background.

anyway, I kind of dig this style. and the painting technique you used.
only thing is I dont like the eyes... they dont make any sense to me. its like they were put in there because they were 'cool'

Well, they are "cool" in my opinion, but that's not the reason I've put them there.
One of those creatures can be seen hanging down a branch. The others are looking curious at what that cursed ghost is doing, somewhat shocked.
Maybe your monitor is too dark to see it (?).
